Background

Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness Management – CESAAM is part of World Bank African Centre of Excellence – ACE II project which is hosted in Egerton University, Kenya. The World Bank, through African Governments and institutions of higher learning, set up projects to establish African Centres of Excellence (ACEs) in line with enhancing partnership in skill development and advancement of technology through research and capacity building. The broad objective of CESAAM is to contribute to sustainable agricultural and agribusiness management through capacity development, research, innovation and technology transfer for enhanced food security. Key among the objectives of CESAAM is to develop agricultural value chains through capacity development, undertake innovative research, enhance incubation and innovation through product development at Agro-Science Park and to disseminate agricultural best practices the CESAAM knowledge centre.
